I've covered seat boxes from the Daiwa range in the past and unlike the other reviews, I decided to focus on a professional seat box (Tournament 800) more suited to Anglers who "know what they want" - rather than a beginners seat box.

I am not saying as a beginner you should buy cheaper boxes, but as somebody who likes to watch the pennies, I feel you should buy cheaper items first, find what features you like then upgrade once you know what you like & use.

The Red & Black Tournament 800 system 36 Fishing Box from Daiwa comes complete with 6 telescopic legs which can be completely adjusted using the built in spirit level to ensure a level box on less than favourable fishing pegs.

Sliding Retractable Moulded Footplate

Tournament 800 Retractable Footplate

The Tournament 800 has a retractable footplate/platform - ideal for when storing or carrying your box seat.  The footplate is secured with screws either side which can then be tightened at the desired length. The large moulded footplate provides more than enough room to fish comfortably and can be washed down using a hose and washing up liquid.

Locking Handwheel

Each 36mm (compatible with System 36 D-Tach attachments/accessories) round leg has the new 180° locking handwheel which means you can tighten (or loosen) the locking grip from either side as not to obstruct any accessories / equipment.

The top cover of each leg can be unscrewed to fit additional accessories (butt rest for feeder fishing / pole stop etc)  or to add leg extensions if you plan on getting into slightly deeper water or your sitting in a very uneven peg.

Lightweight & Sturdy

Constructed out of Aluminium and Steel ensures the seat box from Daiwa remains sturdy, whilst still being transportable to and from your peg with the attached padded shoulder strap.  Unfortunately Daiwa have not provided an overall weight for this item, but I've reached out to them and will update once they respond).

Side Trays

The two shallow side drawers/trays provide additional storage space perfect for storing rigs, weights and other small terminal tackle (plummets, disgorgers etc) that you might need in a hurry. Each tray has adjustable dividers allowing you organize your additional easily.

Lift out Winder Trays with Seals

The Tournament box comes complete with 3 winder trays.

  1. For Wide Winders (Wider Floats - 14 blanks included)
  2. Long Winders (Longer Floats - 20 blanks included)
  3. Short Winders (Short Floats - 30 blanks included)

Each tray has the new "compression seal" to keep all your rigs / winders perfectly dry on rainy days.  Its inevitable that during wetter days your rigs will become slightly wet - the base/lid is 'Perforated' to allow air flow to help dry everything out.

Comfortable

The two-tone (Red/Black) pole seat allows the pole to rest "in" the front of the seat – perfect for those who enjoy fishing with their poles between their legs. The padded seat provides long term comfort (especially when compared to cheaper fishing tackle boxes).
