Maver Signature Pro SXi 36 Seatbox Review

It's that time of week again where I delve into the land of Fishing Box Seats and today I've got an absolute beauty.  The Maver Signature Pro SXi 36 is the upgraded model of the Signature D36. The seat box oozes style, so much so that you could probably replace your dated sitting room chair with one of these.

Backed by Mavers 12 month warranty, the SXi 36 seat box is packed with features, storage, and a sliding cassette style foot tray to make your fishing experience second to none.

Adjustable Telescopic Legs

Like all modern match fishing boxes, the SXi 36 comes complete with 6 adjustable legs (only 4 of which are telescopic) to ensure setting up on an uneven peg is a doddle!

At the base, you have 6 large swivelling mud feet to minimise your box seat from sinking on wet and claggy pegs.

The legs can be adjusted and tightened by Maver's easy to grip tightening wheels located on each 36mm leg.

2 Legs are also complete with threaded tops to allow accessories to easily be attached to your seat box. It's also worth noting that 2 legs have spirit levels built directly into the top as pictured below.

Signature SXi 36 Cassette Style Footplate

The Maver seat box features a cassette style footplate which means it can slide in when carrying the box, and slide out when you arrive at your peg.  

The footplate is made from heavy duty "industrial strength" metal ensuring it can take the added pressure when you're pulling in that 20lb mirror carp from the margins.

How much storage does the Signature SXi 36 offer?

The Maver SXi 36 comes complete with 2 cassette storage systems (Top and Bottom) which can be used to store all your winders, feeders, hooks or any other pieces of terminal tackle.

Bottom Slide Out Storage

Sliding out from the back of the seat box, the 3 drawer stacking module can be removed from the box revealing a perforated metal shelf to store larger items such as ground bait, pellet bags or even your packed lunch.

Top Seat Storage Module

Lifting up the cushioned seat reveals a deep storage area more than capable of storing reels, ground bait, bags of pellets or even your packed lunch.

Located under the seat is the top cassette storage system which has an easy to grip side drawer handle - perfect for quick access to feeders, hooks, or even your mobile phone to film your YouTube shorts.

Maver "Click System" - Lock those drawers!

The new and improved "Click System" on the Maver Signature SXi 36 ensures that you can secure your storage trays to prevent them from unintentionally opening if you accidentally catch the drawer.

Using your fingers, just slide the catch over out on both sides of the drawer and lift up to reveal more storage. (Suitable for winders, rigs, feeders and other small pieces of terminal tackle)

Once you've finished faffing around, close the lid and slide the catches in the opposite directions to lock into place.

How comfortable is the Seat Box?

One thing that really struck me about this box is how amazingly comfy the box looks - and that's even before actually sitting on it.  The seat cushion looks incredibly padded and is styled in a "carbon fibre" design with stunning embroidered detailing.

The seat itself has a central pole crook / hook which is perfect for those fishing straight out giving your back a lovely rest.

The cushion is made from "Anti-memory" cushion, which ensures the seat will not lose it's shape when sitting for long periods of time.

Carrying to and from your peg

No Seatbox would be complete without an easy way to transport your gear, and with the Maver Signature does not disappoint.  

The box features a removable heavy duty padded shoulder strap which clips to the base of the seat box (pictured below) making it easy to carry.

My Review of the Maver Signature Pro SXi 36

If I was in the market for a new box (is it Christmas yet?) this would definitely be on my list.  I am a huge fan of stylish seat boxes and this really does check the boxes for me.

I am a little disappointed to only see 4 of the legs being telescopic, however as I mainly fish from commercials with good level pegs, this is not going to be an issue.  If you're planning on moving more into the water, then I would suggest replacing the 2 non-telescopic legs with telescopic ones.

The storage of the box is something I absolutely love, the removable lower storage module and the metal shelf I can definitely see myself using.

Is the Pro version worth the extra money?

Absolutely.  I think the deluxe seat and the bottom storage more than pay for themselves in the long run.
